Explore Uganda in the three national parks that are well known for their massive number of wildlife such as the mountain gorilla, chimpanzees, lions, leopards, African elephants, buffalos, bushbucks, olive baboons, red tailed monkey among others and birds like the green breasted pitta, African fish eagle, open billed stock, black crane and jacana etc.
You will have a chance to see the Ugandan equator in kayabwe, the Toro crater lakes, and tea plantations among others. Other attractions that you may see are different bird species, the local community mostly the indigenous Batwa known as pygmies, batooro and bakiga with their unique culture.
Day 1 Kampala – Murchison falls national park
You will be picked your hotel or place of residence in Kampala. Begin the panoramic drive north-west through the famous Luwero Triangle and, travel to Masindi via Ziwa Rhino Project. A visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino trekking is a must. After lunch, a stopover at the Bomu women community project is encouraging thereafter drive to Murchison at the spectacularly situated site at the top of the fall where you can see the Nile’s beauty perfected!! Marvel at the Nile, and continue to the lodge for dinner and midnight
Day 2 Morning game drive and boat cruise along the Nile
Begin the day with a cup of African Coffee ready for an early morning game drive. Your guide will help you spot Elephant, Lion, Cape buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffe, hartebeest, Waterbuck, Oribi, Bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, hyena and if you are lucky, the leopard. Return to the hotel for breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon you make a boat trip towards the Murchison Falls. Carefully watched by crocodiles, hundreds of hippos, buffaloes, water birds, apes and all the other thirsty wildlife that the Nile attracts you go to the bottom of the 43 meters high and famous Murchison Falls, which approaches you with a thunderous sound. a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below. This is also a zone of many bird species like Goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork and go to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer from Murchison to kibale forest national park
All day drive south via Hoima to Fort Portal through verdant countryside and past traditional homesteads and farms along Albertine Rift escarpments. Fort-Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon. Day 4 Chimpanzee trekking in kibale forest.
Drive to the information Centre of kayuchu to receive guidelines about the forest, chimp trekking dos and don’ts plus other attractions in the park. other information received are the requirements needed while trekking like avoiding noise making, wearing long sleeved clothes, not using flash lights during photography, among others.
After 30 minutes of briefing, you will be guided by the park ranger into the forest where you will be searching for these chimps. Trekking is one of the best adventures because you walk distances and also involves hiking, this therefore, requires you to be physically fit. Duration of the trek will depend primarily on where the chimpanzees will be located but this can take 2-4 hours including an hour in their presence and in the afternoon transfer to queen Elizabeth national park
Day 4 : Chimpanzee trekking in kibale forest

Day 5 : Morning game drive queen and boat cruise in the afternoon and transfer to Bwindi
Early morning that starts at 6:30am and be able to spot early risers like lions, leopards, jackals, spotted hyenas among others, you will also spot elephants, buffalos, antelopes and beautiful bird species, African mourning dove, swamp night jar, grey headed kingfisher among others and continue to Bwindi for next day’s activity. Bwindi is a home of 340 bird species, over 120 mammals, over 900 plant species, arrive at the park lodge in the evening for your dinner and overnight,
Afternoon boat cruise on kazinga cruise at 4:00pm where you will spot crocodiles and hippos, birds like African fish eagle and elephants, antelopes, warthogs and buffalos on the bank which will take 2 hours and continue to Bwindi for the next day’s activity.
Day 6 : Gorilla trekking and Batwa experience
After an early morning heavy breakfast with your packed lunch, transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National Park headquarters in rushaga for a briefing by a ranger guide on the dos and don’ts during the gorilla trekking experience. After briefing you will hike into the forest looking for the location of these amazing apes, this may take few hours or even a full day depending on the location of the apes.
The activity is strenuous and may require average physical fitness, walking sticks or consider hiring porters to help in carrying heavy luggage.
When you find the mountain gorillas, you will be required to spend one hour with them while taking pictures for memories. It is a worthwhile adventure and so humbling to stand a few meters as you watch these sought-after primates as they eat, feed their young ones and day-to-day activities in their natural habitat.
After trekking you will be rewarded with certificate at the office and drive to your lodge for lunch. Take a community tour to Batwa culture to get more information like the traditional food, dances and their local herbs.
Day 7: Transfer back to Kampala via Mbarara- road
Transfer to Kampala through the kigezi highlands, and farms for ankole horned cattle, reach in kayabwe for Uganda equator where you will take photos and hot lunch. After proceed the journey passing through the coffee plantations of Masaka and you will be dropped at Entebbe airport or hotel in Kampala on arrival
